This biennial meeting drew an international audience and addressed issues of interest to multiple health care disciplines, from basic science to clinical care. Attendees included gastroenterologisst, pediatriciasn, primary care physicians, physiologists, basic scientists, epidemiologists, mental health professionals, nurse clinicians, physician assistants, trainees, and others involved in other allied health fields. Topics covered included:
- Advances in the pathophysiology of the functional gastrointestinal and motility disorders.
- Development of clinical skills in the diagnosis and care of patients with functional GI disorders.
- Networking and sharing information and experiences with other conference participants.
